The annual statistics report produced by the HSE shows that 554 cases were prosecuted by the HSE in 2016/17 (or referred to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) for prosecution in Scotland), with a conviction rate of 93% (“Enforcement in Great Britain 2017”, HSE).
