The annual statistics report produced by the HSE shows that 517 cases were prosecuted by the HSE in 2017/18 (or referred to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) for prosecution in Scotland), with a conviction rate of 95% (“Enforcement statistics in Great Britain 2018”, HSE).
